National Tree Day Friday July 29th

Hi Everyone,

Plant a tree or two.

It’s freezing! The weather is ferocious and foul. Must be coming up to national tree day.

That’s right, Friday 29th July is national tree day; the day we all plant a tree to help our precious planet keep us healthy.

We have lots of lovely trees to choose from, and don’t worry if you’re short of garden space and can’t fit a big tree, cos we have small ones, too. And if you can’t fit a small one we also have dwarf trees, many of which provide delicious juicy fruit and colourful blossom. Even if you don’t have room in your garden, these are great in pots.

We have weeping trees for those of you with very limited space, and punnets of pansies for those of you with absolutely no space.

It doesn’t really matter what you plant because all plants help our planet by converting carbon dioxide into oxygen, even weeds! (But don’t plant weeds, plant plants instead. Much better).

Call in, grab a plant and warm up on Friday as you swing your shovel. If you forget on Friday I’m sure the planet will forgive you, plant it on Saturday, it’s always a good time to plant!

See you soon,

from us all at Mittagong Garden Centre.

Rose Pruning Demo Tuesday July 11th

Hello again Frequent Flowers,

Sorry about the title of the last email, it IS TUESDAY July 11th at 11am, NOT Monday. What a dill!

Just a reminder about Phil’s upcoming rose pruning demos. There are still spaces available for either session, the first on Tuesday July 11th and the second on Wednesday July 19th, both at 11am.

Please book your place so we can have the correct amount of chairs ready for you, and the correct amount of tea bags and chocolate chip cookies!

Simply reply to this email or phone the garden centre on 02 4872 3900 to reserve your space. The demo is outside but we’ll have some heaters going, so arrive in time to get the best seats.

Cheers from us all at Mittagong Garden Centre

Time to fix your roses

It’s cold, close to snowing and the bird baths are frozen. Must be time to prune the roses…

Come along to Mittagong Garden Centre’s rose pruning demonstration on Tuesday, July 11th or Wednesday, July 19th at 11am. Phil will show you how to attack your roses in the nicest possible way to ensure you have months of beautiful flowers. (I can already hear your roses quivering with anticipation).

Drag yourself away from the fire, grab some warm clothes and join us on Tuesday 11th or Wednesday 19th. This is your chance to learn everything about rose pruning but were too afraid to ask.

What do you do next? Easy.

Phone the garden centre on 4872 3900, or reply to this email to book your seat, and remember to specify your preference for the date; July 11 or July 19.

See you soon,

from Bev, Kylie, Carolyn, Trish, Kari, Tom, Roz and Phil.

VIP Frequent Flowers Draw

My goodness, It’s taken 5 hours to process all your entries into the $1000 gift voucher prize draw. Obviously we are not IT geeks, just garden geeks.

Ok, the entries are in the pot (a lovely rusty lightweight pot; very nice.) Phil’s giving them a swish. Now he’s swishing in the other direction. Now he’s flipping them around like an Italian pizza chef. Ok Phil; they are sufficiently swished now.

His hand is in! One final swish and he pulls out….. ….. …… Sarah from Burradoo! Sarah is the lucky winner of the $1000 gift voucher to spend at Mittagong Garden Centre. Woo hoo! Go Sarah and enjoy your shopping.

Apologies to all who didn’t win but there’s always a next time. As a consolation we’ll draw 5 x $100 gift vouchers to ease the pain.

The first one is for Kathryn. Second is Geoffrey. Third Shane. Fourth Monica. And fifth Colin.

Thank you all for your continued support and have a safe and happy Christmas.

Best wishes from Bev, Barb, Carolyn, Kari, Kylie, Phil, Roz, Tom and Trish.
